Video surveillance in hazardous areas: radiometric Thermal Imaging Cameras

Video surveillance in hazardous areas: radiometric Thermal Imaging Cameras

Gas or petroleum Storage & transportation installations (Gas pipelines/petroleum pipelines) are considered hazardous areas or ATEX Zones.

Devices employed in monitoring such installations (Gas and Oil Pipelines) must be ATEX-certified. Global Proof has specifically developed a thermal camera for use in Atex certified areas and guarantees maximum protection and reliability: being EX d certified for use in Zones 1 and 2, Group IIC for gases and Ex tb Zones 21 and 22 for combustible dust, with IP 66/67/68 rating.

Global proof Radiometric thermal imaging cameras are characterized by the ability to measure accurately (±2°C or 2% ) the actual temperature of each single pixel of an image of the object.
Whereas, non-radiometric camera typically supply the temperature of the regions of interest (ROI) set up.
Radiometric thermal imaging cameras provide thermal images captured using a Uncooled FPA microbolometer matrix with either 384x288 or 640x480 pixels. Each pixel captures the IR energy value and creates an image of the observed objects using a user defined colour palette to best present the object being monitored.
The radiometric thermal camera can detect any temperature variations caused, for example, by a gas leak or a malfunction of a valve with great precision and consequently generate an alarm.

Functionally secure and the high quality components used in Global Proof thermal imaging cameras are ideal for professional installations in hazardous areas.
